Nokia Q1 Sales Driven By The Nokia Lumia 800

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a superb mobile phone that has helped the Finnish manufacturer to achieve some great sales figures during the first quarter of 2012. During 2010 and 2011 Nokia's market share declined rapidly as the popularity of platforms such as Android and iOS increased. In a bid to compete Nokia took the decision to scrap the Symbian operating system that they used on all models and produce a new Lumia range of Windows powered handsets. It looks as though this decision is paying dividends with some promising sales figures recorded for the first months of this year.Despite Nokia's share price falling in response to predicted losses in the first half of 2012 the phone manufacturer have announced that they have shifted an impressive 2 million Lumia handsets in the first quarter of this year. It seems as though Nokia are attracting new interest in the mobile phone market thanks to the very impressive range of new devices. What is even more encouraging for Nokia is that these figures do not include the flagship Lumia 900 model which has only been launched recently. One can only expect an even more prosperous second quarter of the year now that the full range of Lumia devices are available. The mid range Nokia Lumia 800 model can take most of the credit for these impressive figures. The attractive model has become a hit with consumers thanks to a competitive price and some intensive marketing. Stephen Elop, the CEO of Nokia, commented "Within our Smart Devices business unit, we have established early momentum with Lumia, and we are increasing our investments in Lumia to achieve market success".The Nokia Lumia 800 is indeed a very special mobile phone. One of the main attractions of the device is the excellent Windows operating system that it employs. This OS offers stunning visuals and an interface that is totally different from the more traditional systems used by the Apple iOS platform and Android. The 800 does offer much more than some impressive software and boasts some hardware that helps it compete with some of the very best phones available. A powerful 1.4Ghz processor is teamed with a large 16GB of internal storage capacity to enable users to store a large amount of multi media files. An 8 million pixel camera is capable of capturing stunning images while the 3.7 inch AMOLED display produces stunning image quality perfect for playing the latest games and viewing high definition video content. The early indications are that the new Lumia range of devices are going to be a big success for Nokia. The Lumia 800 has been responsible for many sales within the new range but the arrival of the Lumia 900 will further boost the appeal of this excellent portfolio of new devices.Visit our website for the best Nokia Lumia 800 prices and Nokia Lumia 900 Contract deals.
